“MIDDLE REPUBLICAN NATURAL RESOURCES DISTRICT GOING TO SUB-DISTRICTS”

The Middle Republican Natural Resources District will be transitioning into sub-districts for their election of board members.  These changes will be in effect for the 2016 election year.  The MRNRD Board of Directors is currently an eleven person board all elected at large.  The new set-up for this board will be a thirteen person board and will result in a major change in how members will be elected. This will be something that hasn’t been looked at or changed for the last 20 years.

The newly approved Middle Republican Natural Resources District project includes Hayes, Hitchcock, and Red Willow counties, and part of Frontier and Lincoln counties. The project will enable participants to voluntarily implement practices to conserve irrigation water and improve groundwater quality.

Our Farmers deserve Praise here in the Middle Republican Natural Resources District (MRNRD).  MRNRD producers have been doing their part in sustaining the water resource. The MRNRD would like to recognize the efforts made by our local farmers that will result in sustaining our natural resources for generations to come. A sustainable natural resource base is key to the economic success in the area and necessary in providing the environment for future generations to make this their home.

The Middle Republican NRD has been very busy making changes to their district the last few months.  These changes have been rewarding but yet challenging at the same time while trying to reflect all of their goals and objectives.

Middle Republican NRD to begin flow meter readings Oct. 1

The Middle Republican Natural Resources District reminds producers that employees of the NRD will be entering property beginning Oct. 1, and continue through the end of December for the purpose of recording the readings of flow meters.   This will include all irrigation wells you may have on your property.
