LINCOLN, May 13, 2013 - Nebraska landowners and operators are encouraged to sign up for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) at their local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office. CSP is a voluntary program that offers payments to producers who maintain a high-level of conservation on their land and agree to adopt additional conservation measures to their operations. As of February 28, 2013, the projected irrigation supply in Harlan County Reservoir for 2013 was computed at 84,500 acre-feet (AF). This indicates that Water-Short Year Administration would be in effect with the irrigation supply being less than 119,000 AF. This computed amount is the same as the January and February 2013 notifications.
